The Customer

The customer is the leading London-based group that is into engineering design and energy management. They are recognized by the industry for providing quality services for the district, residential, commercial, and industrial markets.

The Requirement

The client was looking for a reliable Revit MEP service provider. The design of the building, which was a block of 41 apartments. They wanted our team to develop a model from the same plan. We had to create 41 models, one for each apartment and we had to deliver the same within 30 days.

Project Challenges

Our team of architectural engineers had to face a few challenges during the implementation of the Revit MEP project. The key challenges were -

• The client proposed many changes during the course of the project which took more time to complete
• There were many markup conflicts and there were several changes hence we had to rework on many models

FWS' Solution

The customer sent us three-dimensional Revit models and labels for mechanical and electrical cables through Dropbox. Since the project had a short deadline, we allocated 6 full-time resources to the project, consisting of 5 drafters and one quality control staff. Our representative from BIM received the files from the customer and forwarded them to the operational team after the review.

Based on the labels, our team developed Revit MEP models for the architectural files received from the customer. The files were checked for quality and sent to the client for approval. We worked on the customer's proposed changes and presented the customer with Revit MEP's coordinated drawings and models.

The Results

The customer was very pleased with the Revit MEP models created by our team using the Revit 2018 software. We completed the entire project within the planned deadline without the support of the customer. The customer was impressed by the project's profitability and promised that the future projects would be outsourced to our team.
