The client is an industry-leading manufacturer and distributor of packaging products in the midwestern region of the United States. The Requirement

The client was initially looking for a CNC programmer who is familiar with the advanced manufacturing techniques using both CNC as well as traditional machines.

The Challenges

The bottlenecks they were facing included a shortage of talent and the unavailability of professionals who could work as a full-time resource in the long run. Also, there is a high turnover rate of engineers who work on the shop floor, and the ability to handle CNC programming became challenging with the rising customer demands. So, they reached out to us to explore the possibilities of having a dedicated offshore CNC programmer. They were also worried about the capability of a new resource and how it would all be coordinated in a remote setting, collaborating with product designers and machine operators.

Our Solution

As the first step, we offered the client a package of 100 hours to be consumed within 3 months by assigning a senior programmer and a project manager. This customized solution was initially presented because the client was skeptical about whether the resource would be able to deliver or not and the programming in MasterCAM with various modules/add-on needed to be implemented in the CNC machines on the shop floor. Our programmer was able to handle multi-axis machines flawlessly for machining needs like milling, turning, etc. During our project engagement, our team was able to suggest the client to cut down on run time, tooling, cost, etc. Our initial custom solution of 100 hours was executed brilliantly, and the client is moving ahead with us for a dedicated FTE model.
