The Client

The client is a civil engineer with over 20 years of experience in the real estate sector. He has experience in handling residential and commercial buildings, large communities, and managing facilities. He has developed a simple, scalable, cloud-based, plug-and-play property management app that supports import or customizing charts of accounts, automation of invoices (including batch-sales invoices), tracking purchasing and common charges, and tracking payments, among others. The system is a flexible solution that enables residents as well as facility and property managers to collaborate, exchange, organize, and socialize through a single platform.

The client wanted to make some significant modifications to the system to make it more effective and efficient. The customer wanted to partner with a software development firm with experience and expertise in developing community management and community accounting systems.

There were many challenges with this project. In particular, the client wanted to -

• Bring all the platforms, i.e., the website, web app, and mobile app together into one integrated system
• Create a SaaS-based solution using Microsoft Azure cloud computing service
• Set up a complex process flow in a Ration Utility Billing System to allow users to split billing between requirements and residents

• Developed a SaaS-based solution deployed on Azure cloud with the app being hosted on a VM. The DB was on an Azure SQL database that was hosted with the same geography
• Reworked the entire property management solution and brought it to the dot net framework 4.5
• Converted all the business logic for implementation through APIs so that both the mobile and web apps used the same API
• Created a flexible role matrix to manage and control user access across the application
• Created a powerful RCJ feature from the ground up to ensure that the platform was ready for any claim, request, and job
• Created a ration utility billing feature from the ground up to enable bill splitting at various weight templates and input level
• Moved all inline queries to a stored procedure, resulting in enhanced performance since the connection object was disposed
• Completely integrated the property management accounting system
• Created a website with an integrated shopping cart and payment gateway to enable users to buy specific packages ranging from small to luxurious communities
