The Client

The client we served is a leading Netherlands-based photographer. The client was fascinated by the news at a young age & even made his own newspaper. From conducting interviews & clicking photos to recruiting subscribers & advertisers for printing & distribution, there was no doubt that he would end up in journalism. His sports, news, & portrait photos were posted daily in the Haarlems Dagblad and the IJmuider Courant, among others. In that period, the client developed into a leading photojournalist and added many prestigious clients to his client-base.

The client also provides photography for annual reports or websites and wedding photography or photography for other festive events with great pleasure and enthusiasm. The client puts his maximum into every assignment in terms of creativity and dedication and in this way has amassed many different types of images that can be used for a very wide range of purposes.

Client's Requirements

The client wanted hair masking to be performed as well as changing the background of the images from the dark background to a grey background.

Client's Challenges

The client required 700 images to be edited within 2 days at a cost of $800. The client sent across images in the JPEG format and wanted the output to be in the JPEG and PSD format.

FWS' Solution

We assigned 4 expert image editors who used Adobe Photoshop to perform the hair masking on the images. The background was also changed from the dark background to a grey one. In order to meet the stringent deadline set by the client, all three resources worked an extra 2 hours. We performed the following actions on the images -

1. Clipping path
2. Hair masking
3. Background change
4. Files were saved as JPEG and PSD and sent to the client

The Result

We were able to perform hair masking and background change on the images and sent the final files within the deadline and budget, much to the delight of the client.
