The Client

The client is a leading service provider of business information based in the UK. The client was looking forward to outsourcing research, segregation, and preparation of succinct news reports that covers 11 industry sectors.

Challenges Faced by the Client

The client requirement encompassed press reportage analysis, research, and abstraction of day-to-day business news reports and articles from global emerging markets such as Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The focus of the project involved 11 industry sectors from a wide geographic area.

The primary requirement was to develop reports rounding up the strategic insights from corporate developments. The report was aimed at upper management executives to facilitate in better decision making.

It was imperative for each news abstract from 11 industrial sectors to be researched and written with great accuracy. The client requested for a particular format for which the FWS' team had to undergo training by the company's internal research analysis team.

FWS' Solution

Flatworld assisted the client in the following way -

• In the first step, FWS set up a training module that continued for two weeks. The training was received by our analysts and web researchers on the guidelines specified by the customer
• The project commenced with the web research, information gathering, and downloading pertinent business news that aligns with the client's benchmark on a day-to-day basis
• Additionally, the news abstraction had to match the guidelines communicated by the client. During the training module, the customer feedback was elicited and the changes were incorporated into the training module. The team at FWS comprised of qualified journalists, project managers, and MBA graduates

The Outcome

The outcome of the project was successful. In the second phase, conceptualization of the project commenced. The plan involved covering a wider geographical area and more industrial sectors. The second phase could have abstracts of financial news along with business news.
